LETTER: O-LET-0103CENSUS:
1910 - Tried to find Raymond O'Brien in Sheridan and elsewhere, but he has not been found. The O'Brien family is listed in the 1908-09 city directory as living at 440 Brundage and in the 1910-11 city directory as living at 715 Adair, Nielsen Heights. Have tried to compare other people listed as living in Nielson Heights with the census and those people seem to be found in the 1910 census on pages 180-181, or in that area. This is the 2nd Ward of Sheridan which begins on page 174. The census was taken about April and May, so Harold O'Brien would not be listed as he was born in Jun 1910. Some of the names reviewed in the 1910 census are:
George Carroll p181, Solon Carroll p180, Mary Cassels 180, Fran Christopherson p180, Edward Flynn p180, Walter Granger p180, Walter Hanson p180, Albert Beckwith p180. Research should also be done regarding the address of 440 Brundage. It is noted that there are a large number of supplemental pages included in the 1910 Sheridan Co, WY census, which lends itself to perhaps missing certain households. [See a list of the above individuals in the 1910 city directory of Sheridan at O-DIR-0003.]1910 - Not found.
A letter from Helen Graham, Wyoming Room, Sheridan Public Library, Sheridan, WY, [copy discarded 3/2004], stated that the ED Districts for Sheridan were 103-107 and that I should try looking through all of those, stating "the city wasn't very large and streets are well marked on census." This has been tried, without success.1920 - T625_2029, Sheridan, Sheridan Co, WY, ED 107, line 7, page 8A (34A), 8 Jan 1920

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------BIRTH: Based on her baptism record below, her name is entered as Nikoline Kirstine with the last name of Nielsen. Her father and mother were not married at the time of her birth and perhaps or probably did not marry at all.
BIRTH-BAPTISM: Per the above website she was born 24 May 1880 in Horsens, Denmark. This is apparently an error as her birth/baptism found as listed below. The census of 1900 gives her birth as Dec 1880.
!BIRTH/BAPTISM: This record found at a website in Denmark that has online church records. The website address is: < http://www.arkivalieronline.dk/ >: Church baptisms; 1880-1892; Church records from As Parish [sogn], Bjerre District [herred], Vejle County [amt], Denmark; born 16 Dec 1880, home baptism 18 Dec 1880, baptism announced in church 18 Apr 1881, image 26, page 64, #7 in 1880 baptisms. The image was transcribed and translated as given below and saved as a document in the Christensen computer folder:Nikoline Kirstine Nielsen, born 16 Dec 1880, home baptized the 18th of December, in the church the 18th of April 1881. Unmarried mother Jensine Marie Nielsen, a daughter of Husmand Niels Sørensen Fisker in Overby. Alleged father the weaver Hans Laursen of Korning Sogn, currently in Horsens. She [the mother] was 20 years old.
Witnesses: Godmother: Seamstress Hansine Birgitte Christensen in Overby. Witnesses: Maiden Marie Cathrine Sørensen, Bachelors Jørgen Knudsen and Jørgen Jørgensen, all of Overby, and Bachelor Søren Nielsen Fisker in Løsning, 318 - 27 [refers to the index page].
The mother served* 40 weeks in Horsens, prior to the child's birth, therefore the birth was reported to the parish pastor there. [*"Served" means that she worked as a live-in servant girl.]NOTE: The transcription and translation of this record was done with the assistance of individuals on the internet at RootsWeb.com, Denmark Mailing List. They further explained that the child was listed with the last name of Nielsen probably because the mother and father did not intend to marry or the father did not give his permission to name the child using his name, which would have been Nikoline Kirstine Hansen. Also, the child was born and baptized in As sogn, but the mother had been living in Horsens for 40 weeks prior to the birth so the birth and baptism were apparently reported back to the pastor in Horsens. [A search of the birth/baptism records in Horsens did not reveal any record of the birth of this child, however, it is possibly recorded in a different section of the records and not found for that reason.]
NOTE: The witness Søren Nielsen Fisker may be the brother of Jensine Marie Nielsen.

The Pedigree Resource File is a new lineage linked database of records available on compact disc containing family history records submitted by individuals through FamilySearch Internet Genealogy Service. Family information is organized in family groups and pedigrees and includes submitted notes and sources. Many charts and reports can be printed from this data. Each disc contains about 1.1 million names. With the publication of every five discs, a master index for those discs will be published and packaged with that set of discs. With the publication of every 25 discs, a master index for those discs will also be published and packaged with that volume of discs. Discs may be purchased as sets or volumes.

NOTE: Ancestry.com indexed her name as Leone R, (looks like Leona), age 27, calculates to born about 1903. Is this a different wife than Dorothy Diane? The "R" could be for Roberts. They were both "first married" about 1923, which seems to agree. See her notes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------BIRTH: Per the SSDI information and death record below, she was born in 1912. However, see note below.
NOTE: It is likely that the year of her birth should be 1902 rather than 1912. She is listed in the 1930 census as age 27 (if she is the person listed as Leona), which calculates to born about 1903, and married about 1923. Obviously, it does not make sense to be born in 1912 and married in 1923, which would be at age about 11. The two death records below could have been derived from each other or one record duplicated with the same mistake. From all of the information given it seems like she is the correct person, but that the year of birth should be 1902.MARRIAGE:

1880 - This is probably Carl's family before he was born.
NOTE: According to the 1900 census below, Ole and Annie Carlson were married about 1874 apparently shortly after they immigrated to America. They should therefore be listed in the 1880 US census. With such common names, and no additional information, the census listed below is only tentative and is therefore copied from FamilySearch.org, rather than transcribed. One thing that does not "fit" is that in the 1900 census, their ages are about 9 years apart. In 1880 their ages should be about 36 for Ole and about 27 for Annie.
