Annie
Christensen Anna Christensen was the second child born to Lauritz and Sophie (Nielsen) Christensen. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on 29 January 1882. At the time, Lauritz and family were living on South 16th Street. She was baptized on Sunday, 22 October 1882 as Anne Kirstine Christensen at the Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church (today’s Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church). She was known informally as Annie. |

The earliest known photograph of Annie was in the family photograph taken in front of the Christensen home at 1469 Phelps Street in about 1893, when she was about 11 years old. It is one of only two known photographs of Annie. |

In her youth, Anna attended school in Omaha. After graduating from high school, she was said to have attended Hastings College, but no official record of this has been found. | ||

When she was not quite 25 years
old, Anna passed away in Omaha’s Immanuel Hospital on 6 November 1906.
The civil death record indicated the cause of death was “heart lesion and
secondary kidney lesion.” Her death was also recorded at the Danish Evangelical
Lutheran Church. |

Annie Christensen was buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery
in Omaha.
