Ronald Evan Wismar, Norman Donald Hellmers, and David Charles Mahler, ca 1963
Norm remembers: "We played
a number of Peter, Paul, and Mary songs, so that's why we created this
unusual look. Ronnie didn't play the guitar, but held one for
appearance's sake. Between songs there were jokes, most of which came
from Dave's vast collection of puns and one-liners."

Dave Mahler, Norm Hellmers, and Ron Wismar, ca 1964
Norm remembers: "Dave (a
gifted pianist) played the guitar in our trio, but in an unusual
manner. He
tuned it to a chord and then fingered it to add a 7th, etc. Ronnie is
holding a melodica [?], on which he played an occasional solo."

Dave Mahler, Dick Rosenberg, Norm Hellmers, Ron Wismar, ca 1964
Norm remembers: "In 1964,
we added Dick "Rosy" Rosenberg and created a barbershop quartet.
We still did crazy stuff, but we also tried out to be the quartet for
our college's production of 'The Music Man.' Ronnie and I were selected."
