History: Established in 1844, according to New Orleans Architecture, Volume III: The Cemeteries (1974, edited by Mary Louise Christovich). See page 32.

Records:

Records of the cemetery, 1840-1974, were microfilmed. Records after that date have apparently not been microfilmed. The records were later digitized and can now be viewed online at any FamilySearch Center. See:
https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/252676?availability=Family%20History%20Library

The digitized 52 rolls of microfilm include:
     (1) interments listed alphabetically,
     (2) interments listed chronologically, and
     (3) owners listed alphabetically.

Note: The interments listed chronologically include a gap between June 1855 to June 1883. The so-called “day books” were damaged in a fire in the cemetery office.
