Niles R. Monnin Sr., age 69, died on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Beloved husband of Rochelle Krantz Monnin. Father of Niles R. Monnin Jr. Son of the late Sylvester J. Monnin and Gertrude Murray Monnin. Brother of Inell Delaune and the late Sylvester J. Monnin and Sylvia Schroeder. Uncle of Calvin and Elizabeth Abrue, Jamie Sr., Alex, Ashley and Anthony Boteler, Michelle Gourgeot, Colleen Smoter, Joseph III, Michael and Raymond Krantz.

Mr. Monnin was a longtime resident of Chalmette, LA. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial visitation at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 2320 Paris Road, Chalmette, LA, on Friday, October 15, 2010 beginning at 11:00 AM followed by Memorial Mass at 12 Noon. St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.



Niles and Rochelle Monnin, now married for 46 years, are still living in Chalmette. Niles, whose work career included years at Snyder Ventures and Tenneco Oil Company, is now retired and enjoying the pleasures of bowling and fishing. He still has a keen interest in cars. He has kept in touch with some of his Nicholls friends. He fondly remembers Coach Arthur “Moose” Porter, saying the coach had a positive influence upon his life.
