Thomas Alois “Tommy” Reis
Thomas A. Reis met his wife at the altar twice. The first
time was when he joined Atonement Lutheran
Church in Metairie, and
she arrived—camera in hand—to take his photograph as a new member. The second
time was August 25, 1990, when he and Donna married. Their children were
already grown and on their own.
Tommy has two daughters. His older is Kecia, a certified
public accountant with Bourgeois-Bennett and Associates. Treschelle is a
registered nurse, working as a statistician with the Louisiana Organ
Procurement Association. Kecia is mother to daughters Taylor, 17; Gabrielle,
11; and Victoria, 9, and to son Sam, who is 10.
Donna has three boys: David is with Waffle House; Doug is a
photographer who also operates his own business, Factory Direct Industries; and
Devin is with Southwest Airlines.
Tommy worked many years for National Industries, until
Hurricane Katrina closed the business. He is now with Talbot Historical
Properties/NOLA Rentals, LLC, and is enjoying a slower lifestyle. Not long ago
he bought a Trek bicycle, which he takes to work in his truck. After work he
rides it either to the river, the lake or around Bayou St. John where, he says,
he pedals his “old man’s bike” as long as his knee replacements feel like it.
