William B. Welch, Jr. passed away at 2:15 am on Sunday, December 30th after a courageous battle with cancer. His loving and devoted wife Colleen Burtchaell Welch of 44 years was at his side upon his death. Bill was the Beverage Manager at the Isle of Capri, Palace Casino and the Island View Casino.

He was a member of the Local 406 Operating and Engineers Union and a member and past master of Mount Moriah Lodge #59. He was born to William B. Welch Sr. and Myra Nell Duggan Welch on January 27th, 1944, in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he resided with his family until moving to Diamondhead, Mississippi, 12 years ago. Bill had one sister, Nancy Martin Howze who resides in Port St. Joe, Florida.

Bill was a great father to William B. Welch III, Scott David Welch, David Martin Welch and Heather Ann Welch-Montelone. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher, Christian, Emily, Kaitlyn, Mallory, Ethan, Madeline, Chandler, Molly Grace and Bryce.

Services for William Buford Welch were held, January 02, 2008, at 12:00 PM at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124
