Confirmations
were performed solely in German through 1884. As the church slowly
added English services, there were years in which there were
confirmations in German and English. Starting in 1902, confirmations
were only performed in English.
In 1907, G. J. Wegener, Pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran
St. Paul’s Church, had printed a list of the 967 mostly young people whom he
had confirmed in the 20 years between 1887 through 1907. The list is in English
typeface, which can make searching these years easier. If found in these years, the person can
be looked up in the original records. A copy of the list is here.
